A heartwarming new book by author Dan Hambright

Dan Hambright’s new book is just out. I ordered it right away because his first book was so compelling. The new one is so heartwarming, and much of it is set at Christmastime.

The Edge of Broken

Heartache tore their worlds apart. Love might be the only thing that can heal them.

Jason Landry carries the weight of a life he can’t get back. Emily Walters carries the scars of a life she’s fought hard to rebuild. Neither one is looking for lover. Neither one believes they deserve it.

But fate, and a little girl with a big heart, have other plans.

As the holidays approach and their lives intertwine, past wounds resurface, and new fears threaten to push them apart. To find happiness again, Jason and Emily must face their ghosts, forgive themselves, and learn what it means to truly move forward.

The Edge of Broken is an unforgettable story of healing, forgiveness, and the transformative power of love.

My thoughts

Grief is such a complicated process, often accompanied by guilt. Jason calls life an unfair game, but he has a couple of persistent friends, especially the pesky one. Thank God for persistent and pesky friends, and for God-nudged second chances. The story is a beautiful reminder that we’re not alone in our struggles, even the deepest and complex ones.

The Modern Christ: A Contemporary Retelling of the Story of Jesus

My thoughts about Dan’s first book: The Modern Christ is the ultimate “what if” story. What if Jesus were born in contemporary America?

Think Jewish immigrants working mundane jobs, a president named Herod, astronomers discovering a strange star. John the Baptist as a woodsman, becoming an internet sensation, Jesus praying before distributing five sandwiches and two protein bars. You get the idea.

This powerful story will resonate with those caught up in social media, helping make a fresh connect with the life of Christ.
