September 6 is National Read a Book Day! How about one of these?
Amazon Author Page offers a chance to recommend books in specific categories, limiting the number of words you can include. I don’t know how anyone would happen onto this strip toward the bottom of my Amazon Author Page, but here are my choices:
What’s a book that opened your eyes to a new perspective?
by Craig Matthews
What’s a book you couldn’t put down?
by William Ablan
What’s a book that left an impression on you?
by Ruth Talbot
“This is the mesmerizing story of three youngsters caught up in the vortex of the Great Depression. “
What’s a similar book readers would like?
by William A. Wright
“Based on the life of his father, Wright has written a masterful and introspective history of WWII. ”
What’s a book that is important to you?
by Dan Hambright
“”The Modern Christ” is the ultimate “what if” story. What if Jesus were born in contemporary America?”
EVERY day is Read a Book Day for me! And there are so many it’s hard to narrow it down to just one for each of those categories.
Same here. Goodreads says I’ve read 74 books this year. I’d already done this with five other books, so just changed them. The challenge for me was being allowed so few words.
They all sound excellent!
Thanks, GP. I sure enjoyed them!
Thank you, Joy, for pointing these out! 🥰
Thanks, Vicki! A few favorites!
🥰🥰🥰
Cathedral by Raymond Carver played a huge role in my development as a short story writer. In recent years, Leora’s Letters and What Leora Never Knew have been the books that have left the biggest impression on me. I’ll never think about the freedoms I enjoy today without seeing the faces of those three young men.
Oh my, thank you, Liz!
You’re welcome, Joy.
Thank you for sharing these books!
Thank you, Linda. I’m grateful I’ve run into them!
