
8th Grade GraduationI wore blue cotton sateen with a black velvet ribbon sewn by Mom on her new White electric machine, to graduate on the stage of Dexter’s elliptical 1916 Community Building where my parents played high school basketball. I was handed a diploma by Dr. Chapler, who delivered me fourteen years earlier, who had patched up two of the Barrow gang after the 1933 shootout in Dexfield Park. Meadowlark Songs
